Well the people of Bedhampton definitely know how to party!!!
The 70s and Motown disco was so much fun - it was great to see familiar faces and lots of new faces turn up and dance, and drink, and eat the retro snacks we put out on the tables (onion rings or cheese puffs, anyone?).
Tom the Vinyl DJ kept the party going all night, and I haven't danced that much in ages!
The selfie station with all of its props, was definitely popular, and we'd love to see more photos that you took over on our facebook page!
We have more party nights planned, with the next ones being a Christmas party night, then 80s themed and 60s themed.
Remember our Mediumship Night on the 28th September, tickets are selling well so get yours soon!
How did it get to be summer already!? We've had such a lot going on, including very successful book sales, jumble sales, Older Persons Fair in Havant, radio adverts, a new gardening group, new classes starting, and of course our parties and other hirers! Phew! No wonder time has flown by...
Talking of time flying by, there's only a few weeks left to buy your tickets for the 70s and Motown DISCO (adults only) on the 17th August. Find your perfect outfit and buy your tickets in advance, £7 from the office. As both the summer dance and fish&chip lunch have sold out, we recommend you get your tickets sooner rather than later! ;-) Pop in to buy, or email
The 75th anniversary of the Normandy Landings was commemorated here at the centre with a D-Day Tea Dance, organised brilliantly by our Wednesday Night Social Sequence group, they held it on their first Thursday of the month afternoon dance.
Everyone dressed up in red, white and blue (including some amazing stripy trousers, a union jack shirt and a red, white and blue cowboy hat!) and enjoyed the dances to wartime songs.
The Wednesday and Thursday social sequence groups are very open and welcoming to new members, whether you've danced before or not, and for the dancing, company, tea and biscuits, it's £2.50 for centre members or £3 for guests.
As you can see from the photos, everyone had a fabulous time, and it seemed a very fitting commemoration to the community spirit and strength of the time.
We had a very fun night at our Pamper Evening, with a popular summer berry punch to welcome everyone in, quizzes with prizes, free facials, making bath salts, shopping opportunities, nail painting, massage, reflexology, and of course a raffle!
It was great to have everyone so involved, and lovely to see everyone chatting late into the evening, or floating back to their spot on the sofas after their treatments!
We had lots of requests to have another one, so we will definitely do that in the future.
Our next event is our Family Friendly Racing Night on the 8th June. £20 for teams of up to 4 people (under 3's free), which includes all of your bets too! There's extra games available on the night, a bar for adults, a tuck shop for children (and adults with a sweet tooth!), plus, as always, loads more going on! Contact the office on 023 9248 0654, or pop in to buy your tickets.
TICKETS NOW ON SALE for our Pamper Evening on the 15th May, 2019. Imagine yourself (maybe add a friend or two) relaxing with a glass of summer punch in your hand, while you're having a mini treatment of reflexology, or massage, or having your nails done (or all three or more!), thinking about what you're potentially going to buy in the health and beauty shopping arcade, or trying to decide on which flavour bath salts to make, or wondering if you're going to win one of the many prizes on offer throughout the evening.
The candles are flickering, the background music is low, you find your glass being refilled as an eye mask is placed over your eyes before your head massage.
Tickets are £5 per person available from the office, or on - we only have limited spaces so remember to book early!
We have so much to catch up! I just thought I'd let you know about some events we have coming up here at the centre.
22nd March - Macmillan Coffee Morning with homemade cakes
20th April - Children's Easter Party (see Events page)
15th May - Pamper Party
Our Macmillan Coffee morning is being run at our Friday coffee morning to raise funds for this amazing charity. Jo, one of our lovely volunteers, is going to be baking like mad - I'm hoping for her drizzle cakes (or dribble cakes, as I think they should be called, as they're so delicious!)
The Children's Easter Party is going to be fun-packed, full of games, crafts, a bonnet parade catwalk, a trail, tombola, CHOCOLATE - so much to do, at £5 a ticket it's the most Easter fun you can have in 3 hours!
The Pamper Party is going to be a relaxing chance for you to wind down with taster treatments, a chance to shop all things health and beauty, and enjoy a glass of something while you make a body scrub, or have a go at winning some prizes.
Contact or pop in for more information, or to buy £5 tickets for the two parties.
Ahh! Thank you all so much for helping make our Open Day such a success. It was fun packed right from the off, with hula hooping, dancing, chair yoga, singers, dancers, lots and lots of cake, prize-givings after competitions, face painting, crafting, tombolas and raffles, many many teas and coffees, a lunch that went down a treat with everyone, the Mayor of Havant, That's Solent TV (you can see the videos here - and here - lots of familiar faces, lots of brand new faces, and just a thoroughly lovely day!
It was very very lovely to be able to provide this day free of charge, so we thank J.Edwards Funeral Directors for donating the amazing hamper to help us fundraise, and also contributing towards lunch (and helping us serve it!), to all the groups that gave their time and resources, and all of our volunteers that made the day the success it was. Thank you!
This week also sees the introduction of three new activities - a new Friday Coffee Morning, Friday afternoons Craft and a Cuppa, and Tuesdays Chair Yoga course. It's all very exciting! Onwards and upwards, like our Bedhampton bird logo!
